So you've probably noticed that at Apples'n'Oranges, we just can't get enough of contests! In our latest giveaway you could win your choice of a girl's or boy's Peekaboo Beans hoodie. All you need to do is send a photo to info@apples-n-oranges.com of your child showing off an Apples'n'Oranges item, and we'll feature it our photo gallery (to be unveiled in October). Hairclips hairclips hairclips!

You know what one of our biggest sellers is? Hairclips! We sell tons of them, and it's no wonder, they are so darn cute. We recently got a new shipment of Bugalug Hair Bands that are so adorable I really want one for myself. I have yet to take apart the packaging to see if it would actually fit around my head.




I'm also thrilled that we brought on a new line of clips - FlowerPot Design! These clips come in duos with one crocheted flower, and one very cute bow. I don't know how Flora does it, because I tried crocheting a while back, and the only thing I could ever do was a straight line. I made a really long afghan, and I think I made a scarf. Lara tried to teach me how to make these circles that you attach together to make a blanket, but I could never get the hang of it.

So back to hairclips- my point is, they are super cute, and if I had a daughter she'd have a matching set for every outfit! I don't think Joel would appreciate me putting the hairclips on him! I guess I'll have to wait.

Ok, it's not. It's supposed to be quite warm today in Ottawa, but it's time to start thinking, even if just for a minute, about winter.... and Gramma's hats!!!

There's a special story behind Gramma's hats - Gramma is my mom :) She started making these hats quite a few years ago and it's become her hobby to make them and sell them - giving almost all the money to charity (really, she just keeps enough money to make more hats).
Gramma's hats are $18 and $13 of the sale of each hat goes to the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario. So you get a cute hat and you help out a great hospital.

And we're having a contest to win one of these hats!!!

Here's what you do. Check out the Gramma's hats on the web site and then leave us a comment telling us which one is your favourite. We'll pick a lucky winner next Friday (September 14) who will get to choose the hat of their choice (what you tell us is your favourite in the comments isn't written in stone ;)
